Modern Medical Musings: What's the best thing about cardiology fellows?
I answer with a poem titled "Always There."
Always there. When life isn’t fair, And any person, anywhere, Penniless or billionaire, Has a heart in disrepair, Always there. When others aren’t aware, Have no time to spare, And the hospital is bare, Always there. When dealt a scare And turning to prayer, When others wouldn’t dare but stop and stare, Always there. In times of despair, No one can compare Because we are always there, Have knowledge to share, Burdens to bear, Know life is rare, We care. Always there.
Beautiful poem. A foundation for Virtue as value
Love. But, ironically I had a patient with a fractured hip with ecg changes we sent her tothe parent hospital for angio. Fellow said it’s late, tomorrow.no. Then attending will have to. Pt was treated an put on anticoagulants. Transferred to another where cardiologist monitored a fellow orthopedic surgeon stopped anticoagulant, she died with p.e. Things probably better tf years later
